男子400公尺跨欄項目由千里達的21歲選手Jehue Gordon以46秒69成績拿下冠軍，這是他個首面世錦賽金牌，也是千里達隊史第二位奪金選手。
47秒69也是今年目前為止最佳紀錄，美國選手Michael Tinsley以47秒70拿下銀牌，銅牌由塞爾維亞選手Emir Bekrić 奪得，成績為48秒05。
Gordon在200公尺處超越Tinsley，並一路領先到終點，他是繼1997的雅典世錦賽200公尺短跑冠軍Ato Boldon之後，第二位替千里達在世錦賽奪金的選手。
女子400公尺跨欄部份，由地主的Zuzana Hejnova以52秒83摘金，美國選手Dalilah Muhammad以54秒09居次，銅牌同為美國的Lashinda Demus，成績54秒27。
