預期明年初 微軟任命新執行長

微軟公司領導4人委員會尋找新執行長的董事湯普森（John Thompson）今天表示，他認為會在明年初任命新執行長。這是微軟董事會首次提出這麼明確的時間表。

這項宣布顯示微軟公司（Microsoft Corp）尋找新執行長的工作已接近尾聲。在現任執行長巴爾默（Steve Ballmer）8月宣布打算在12個月內退休後，微軟開始尋覓新執行長。微軟是世界最大軟體公司。

微軟承諾依照巴爾默的時間表挑選新執行長，不過大多數投資人預期這個程序會在12月或明年1月結束。

湯普森在張貼於微軟官網的部落格文章表示：「我們找出超過100位可能人選，和其中數十人談，然後將我們的精力集中在約20人身上。」

「如你們所預期，人選範圍已縮小。我們取得很大進展，我預期我們會在明年初完成這項工作。」
