即將進行成立以來最大一波裁員的微軟（Microsoft），將一併結束旗下原創影音事業Xbox Entertainment Studios，全心專注核心電玩事業。
位於加州聖塔莫妮卡的Xbox Entertainment Studios，在美國與加拿大共有近200名員工，但未公布裁員人數。微軟17 日宣布未來一年內將裁撤1.8萬名人力，關閉該部門即是整頓計畫一環。
微軟前執行長鮑默爾2012年請來CBS資深娛樂總裁泰蘭（Nancy Tellem）執掌剛成立的Xbox Entertainment Studios ，打造Xbox Live線上平台的獨創影音內容。
不過，該部門因管理成效不佳，並未交出預期佳績，也未能建立完整的商業模式，合作夥伴紛紛求去。Xbox Entertainment Studios將逐步結束營運，但最後一戰（Halo ）影集等製作中的作品將持續進行。
